Grassroots Alliance pre-launch: help us build it and be one of our first 10 founding testers

Grassroots Alliance is almost ready to open its doors. Before it opens to everyone, we want 10 people to walk through it first and tell us the truth about what works.

We're looking for 10 founding testers. Use the free member portal for two weeks, share your feedback, and we'll give you a free 1-hour strategy session for your organization or idea.

What we're asking

  1. Claim your spot. Email GA@ErinHutt.com with "Founding Tester" in the subject line.

  2. Join and complete onboarding. Set up your profile, take the private assessment and choose your track.

  3. Use the portal for about two weeks. Open your track, try a worksheet, browse the member directory and check out Funding Root and Around the Alliance.

  4. Take a 10-minute feedback survey. Tell us what worked, what was confusing and what you wish was there.

What you get

  • A free 1-hour strategy session. One-on-one time focused on your organization or idea. Bring your biggest question.

  • Free membership that stays free. Testing costs you nothing, now or later.

  • A real say in what we build. Your feedback shapes what every future member sees.

How to claim a spot

Email GA@ErinHutt.com with "Founding Tester" in the subject line. Include:

  • Your name

  • Your organization, or the idea you're shaping

  • One thing you hope Grassroots Alliance can help with

Spots go to the first 10 people who are a good fit. We'll reply within 3 to 5 business days with next steps, including your application link.

You don't need an established nonprofit or a 501(c)(3) letter to test. We're hoping for a mix: people shaping an idea, leaders running programs mostly on their own, and small teams ready for stronger systems.

Why Grassroots Alliance exists

When a family needs food or a young person needs a mentor, it's usually a community organization that answers. Often it's a small one. Sometimes it's one person with a full-time job who runs the nonprofit at night and on weekends.

Those leaders carry a lot. They're expected to run programs, manage money, keep up with compliance and find funding, usually with no back office behind them. Most never trained in nonprofit operations. They have a heart for the work and figure out the rest as they go.

We built Grassroots Alliance for them. It's a free membership community for nonprofit leaders, board members, volunteers and people still shaping an idea: a place to ask questions, find practical resources and connect with people working through the same things you are.

One organization can only reach so many people. Supporting the people who lead many organizations reaches further. Good guidance exists, but it's often expensive or scattered across a dozen places. Grassroots Alliance puts that support in one place and keeps it free for individuals, so cost is never the reason someone goes without help.

The work can also feel lonely. Having people to ask, people who understand the highs and lows, makes a real difference in whether a leader keeps going.

Every free membership includes:

  • Practical resources. Guides and fill-in worksheets for your next step. Your worksheets save to your account and download as a PDF, so your priorities stay in front of you.

  • Member directory. See who else is doing the work, learn about their organizations and reach out.

  • The Community Table. A monthly virtual conversation about what nonprofit leaders are facing right now. Members can submit questions ahead of time.

  • Funding Root. Weekly grant postings to research for your organization.

  • Around the Alliance. A bulletin and calendar of upcoming events, where members can submit their own flyers.

  • Roots & Impact. Member stories, community updates and news from the Alliance.

Find your starting point

After you join, you'll complete a private assessment. It recommends one of three tracks, and you choose the one that fits your goals.

  • Getting Started is for people shaping an idea. Get clear on the community you want to serve and the program you want to build.

  • Building the Foundation is for organizations that are up and running. Figure out which systems you need and what to tackle first.

  • Strengthening the Organization is for teams ready for the next level. Pick one improvement goal and turn it into a plan you can act on.

Your assessment answers stay private. Your member profile is what other members see.

Start where you are

You do not need to have everything figured out to make a difference. Start where you are and use what you have, and let us build alongside you.
